Two Early 20th Century Glazed Earthenware Jardinieres Including Roseville Persian Pattern - This lot consists of two early 20th-century ceramic jardinieres. The first is a Roseville Pottery jardiniere in the Persian pattern, introduced circa 1916. The vessel features a wide-bodied form with a stepped rim and a small pedestal foot. The earthenware body is decorated with a hand-painted repeating frieze of stylized Egyptian Revival lotus blossoms in yellow, blue, and green, interspersed with small red and yellow daisies against a white ground. A solid green band encircles the shoulder. The base is stamped in black with the mark ROSEVILLE and the model number 557. The second item is an Arts and Crafts style bulbous jardiniere with a tapered base. The hand-painted decoration features stylized pink and purple flowers with long, sweeping green stems and foliage against a cream-colored ground. No maker marks are visible on the base.
