A Collection of Weller Pottery Bonito Earthenware - An assortment of American art pottery from the Weller Pottery company of Zanesville, Ohio, specifically the Bonito line. The collection consists of earthenware pieces featuring hand-painted wildflower motifs including pansies, bluebells, wild roses, and bleeding hearts. Each piece is finished with a matte cream ground glaze and a contrasting green glaze on the interior. The collection includes a variety of forms: a large ovoid vase with scrolled shoulder handles, a large flared vase with scrolled shoulder handles, a cylindrical vase with a flared foot, a conical footed vase, a footed vase with small handles, a medium bulbous vase with small handles, two small jars with small handles, two footed bowls, and one green-glazed ceramic flower frog insert. Most pieces feature an incised Weller Pottery script mark on the base. Various hand-painted characters and numbers are present on the undersides, including the letters H, E, M, and F, an incised X, and the numbers 4, 11, and 15.
