Genesee Beer The Express Train Illuminated Shadow Box Sign by Price Brothers Corp., circa 1960s-1970s - A vintage lighted advertising shadow box sign produced for the Genesee Brewing Co. of Rochester, New York. This item was designed and manufactured by Price Brothers Corp. of Chicago, Illinois, as evidenced by the original manufacturer label affixed to the reverse. The sign features a three-dimensional molded plastic face in relief, based on the 19th-century Currier and Ives lithograph titled The Express Train. The graphic depicts a steam locomotive pulling passenger cars through a mountainous landscape with a stone arch bridge in the background. The scene is housed within a gold-tone metal frame. The top portion of the sign features a raised banner with GENESEE BEER in green block letters, while the bottom banner identifies the scene as THE EXPRESS TRAIN. The back of the sign consists of a gold-painted metal housing with mounting hardware and a power cord. The manufacturer label provides instructions for maintenance and recommends an F15T8D bulb. 22 inches x 15.5 inches. Burns in-house shipping is available.
