Taylor 510 Mahogany Acoustic Dreadnought Guitar Serial Number 7029 - This is a Taylor Model 510 acoustic dreadnought guitar manufactured in Santee, California. The instrument features a solid spruce top with a natural gloss finish and a concentric ring rosette. The back and sides are constructed of solid mahogany with a dark vertical center strip on the back. The mahogany neck is fitted with an ebony fingerboard featuring dot inlays and terminates in a headstock with a gold script Taylor logo. The bridge is also ebony with white bridge pins and a compensated saddle. The body is finished with black binding and a tortoiseshell-patterned pickguard. The guitar is equipped with its original six individual chrome-plated Schaller tuning machines, which are stamped Made in W. Germany. An internal white paper label is visible through the soundhole, hand-marked with Model No. 510 and Serial No. 7029, and bears the handwritten signature of Robert Taylor. Based on the Santee, California label and serial number, this instrument dates to approximately 1988. Included is a brown textured hardshell case with a black plush-lined interior and gold-tone latches. The lot also contains a handwritten provenance note on light green paper stating the guitar was used by a member of the Stony Ridge Boys, a recording group from Northeast Ohio. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
