The Flatiron Mandolin Model 1N, Serial No. 94025212 - This acoustic mandolin is a Flatiron Model 1N, a flat-back or pancake style instrument produced in Bozeman, Montana. The instrument features a solid spruce top with a natural finish and a circular soundhole. The back and sides are constructed from a light-colored hardwood, likely maple or birch, with a natural satin finish. The neck is made of mahogany or a similar hardwood with a slim profile, fitted with a rosewood or ebony fingerboard featuring dot position inlays and 18 frets. The headstock displays The Flatiron script decal and is equipped with a black plastic truss rod cover. Hardware includes four-on-a-plate open-gear tuning machines with cream buttons, a traditional fixed dark-wood bridge, and a nickel-plated tailpiece with a decorative shell-style cover.
