Antique Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Raised Beadwork Souvenir Bag - This antique souvenir pouch is an example of Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) raised beadwork, traditionally produced for the tourist trade in the late 19th to early 20th century. The bag features a horseshoe-shaped profile with a red wool ground. Both sides are decorated with embossed floral and leaf motifs composed of clear glass seed beads with green and yellow accents. The curved perimeter is finished with a heavy fringe of clear glass bead loops. The edges and interior are lined with a tan-colored fabric binding. A small metal hook-and-eye closure is located at the top opening. The bag includes a double-strand beaded handle made of clear and faceted smoky glass beads. Body: 3.5 inches wide x 3 inches high Overall width including fringe: 4.5 inches Total length including handle: approximately 10 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
