Antique Gem Galvanized Steel Hand Crank Chain Pump - An antique manual chain pump manufactured by the Gem brand. The item consists of a cylindrical galvanized steel housing with a domed top. The body features black stenciled text reading GEM, GALVANIZED, STEEL, CHAIN PUMP, and SOLD BY. The domed top section is detailed with stenciled scrollwork and functional perforations that spell out the word GEM. A cast iron crank handle is mounted to the side and is embossed with the GEM brand name. The unit includes a flared mounting base and a long rusted iron pipe extension. This hardware was historically utilized for drawing water from cisterns. Width of housing: Approximately 8.5 inches.
