Antique A.P. Donaghho Parkersburg West Virginia Salt Glazed Stoneware Wax Sealer Fruit Jar - This antique salt-glazed stoneware fruit or canning jar was manufactured by A.P. Donaghho in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The jar features a cylindrical body with a rounded shoulder and a grooved rim specifically designed for a wax seal. The exterior is finished with a characteristic salt-glaze ”orange peel” texture and decorated with a stenciled cobalt blue maker's mark that reads A. P. Donaghho / Parkersburg, W.V. The interior and the top edge of the rim are coated in a dark brown Albany-type ferruginous slip. The base shows wire-cut marks from the potter's wheel and bears a white inventory label marked 1994-1293-1. This piece is a typical example of Ohio River Valley stoneware from the late 19th century.
