An Assortment of Antique Railroad Maintenance and Blacksmithing Tools including a Staunton Wagon Jack - This lot comprises a collection of late 19th to early 20th-century industrial and railroad tools. Central to the group is a large, wooden-handled manual lever tool, identified as a wagon jack or railroad jack, featuring a cast iron head with legible cast marks for INDIANA, SHELBYVILLE, and STAUNTON. Other metal components of this mechanism are marked RIGHT. The collection includes multiple wooden and cardboard boxes containing a large quantity of iron railroad spikes. Also present are various blacksmithing and maintenance-of-way tools, including heavy iron swage or bolster plates with diverse apertures, notably one with a quatrefoil-shaped opening and another with four square holes. Further items include long-handled wrought iron forge tongs and several steel drifts or punches. One storage container is a period wooden shipping crate from Sprague, Warner and Co. of Chicago, marked RICHELIEU and PHONOS. You must come pay, load and remove during the pickup window of Thursday, July 9 from 10 am to Noon in Athens, OH. No exceptions! No sales tax collected on this auction.
