A Pair of Antique Douglas Collapsible Voting Booths with Ohio Election Ephemera - Two vintage collapsible voting booths manufactured by the Douglas Mfg. Co. of Crete, Nebraska. Each set includes an original long wooden storage crate with hinged lids and metal carrying handles, internal folding frames constructed of wood and metal, and several off-white canvas privacy panels with metal grommets. One canvas panel features a circular stenciled mark identifying the manufacturer as DOUGLAS COLLAPSIBLE VOTING BOOTH MADE BY DOUGLAS MFG. CO. CRETE, NEBR. The exterior of the wooden crates shows similar faint stenciled markings. One crate end retains a partial paper shipping label from THE COLUMBUS BLANK BOOK MFG. CO. of COLUMBUS, OHIO. Accompanying the booths is a double-sided paper broadside titled GENERAL ELECTION INSTRUCTIONS TO VOTERS. This document details ballot marking procedures for Ohio and bears the name of Edward J. Hummel, who served as the Ohio Secretary of State from 1943 to 1949. The broadside was also produced by THE COLUMBUS BLANK BOOK MFG. CO.
