A Pair of Vintage Ohio Embossed Steel License Plates dated 1942 and 1945 - This lot features two vintage automotive license plates from the state of Ohio, produced during the World War II era. Both plates are manufactured from embossed steel and utilize a color scheme consisting of a cream or faded yellow background with dark green embossed characters and a dark green border. The first plate is embossed with the registration X 446 K and is marked OHIO - 1945 along the bottom margin. The second plate is embossed with the registration X 222 K and is marked OHIO - 1942 along the bottom margin. These plates feature a consistent X prefix and K suffix, which historically indicated specific registration categories or county designations in Ohio during this period. The 1942 plate represents the final full-production year before wartime metal rationing, while the 1945 plate is a full-sized embossed issue from the conclusion of the war. The reverse of each plate displays the mirrored impression of the front embossing with visible oxidation. Approximately 12 inches x 6 inches.Shipping Available.
