Two Vintage Ohio Embossed Metal License Plates, 1946 and 1948 - This lot features two authentic embossed metal vehicle registration plates issued by the state of Ohio. The first plate, dated 1948, features black embossed characters and a border on a yellow field. The central registration number is X-488-K, with OHIO - 1948 embossed along the bottom edge. The second plate, dated 1946, features red embossed characters on a cream-colored field. The central registration number is X-724-K, with OHIO - 1946 embossed along the bottom edge. Both plates follow the standard Ohio registration format from the post-World War II period, characterized by a single letter prefix and suffix flanking a three-digit number. Each plate has four original mounting holes. The reverse sides display recessed impressions of the front characters and include remnants of adhesive tape near the top mounting holes.
