A Pair of Vintage Stanley Bailey No. 27 Transitional Jack Planes - This lot features a pair of transitional bench planes manufactured by Stanley Rule & Level Co. under the Bailey pattern. These tools represent a design period that combined traditional wooden soles with modern cast iron mechanical frogs and blade adjustment assemblies. Both planes are constructed with hardwood bodies, likely beech, and feature cast iron components with steel irons and lever caps. One plane with a lighter wood finish has a circular cast iron plate beneath the front knob bearing the raised letters BAILEY. The second plane with a darker wood finish has the BAILEY mark cast into the iron body behind the front knob. Both planes retain their original wooden front knobs and rear tote handles. Based on the 15-inch length, these are identified as No. 27 Jack planes. Length: 15 inches Width: 3 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
