A Collection of Vintage Precision Machinist Measuring and Layout Tools including Brown and Sharpe and L.S. Starrett - This lot consists of an assortment of vintage precision machinist measuring and layout tools produced by prominent American and European manufacturers. The collection includes a combination square set featuring a 12-inch steel rule marked Brown and Sharpe Mfg. Co. of Providence, Rhode Island, paired with a square head, protractor head, and center head, with some components marked for The L.S. Starrett Co. A specialized thread measurement micrometer is present, featuring a frame marked Swedish Gage Co. Eskilstuna Sweden 104E-A and a thimble marked Brown and Sharpe Mfg. Co. with patent number 1,629,4xx. Also included is an L.S. Starrett No. 272 A radius gauge set housed in a black textured pouch and a thread measuring wire set from the Flynn Boring Tool Co. of Detroit, Michigan, contained in its original box and a green vinyl roll-up pouch. Supplemental layout tools include an American Caliper Co. tempered 60-degree center gauge, two folding leaf-style thread pitch gauges, a 6-inch steel rule with an etched decimal equivalent table, and a Cincinnati Tool Co. No. 56 Super Jr. forged steel heat-treated C-clamp. The tools are constructed from hardened, tempered, and forged steel. Longest rule: 12 inches Shortest rule: 6 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
