Two US Military Field Tools Including M1943 Folding Entrenching Tool and Pick-Mattock with Carriers - This lot features two pieces of United States military field equipment consistent with issue during the Cold War era. The first item is an M1943 pattern folding entrenching tool. It consists of a steel shovel blade with a threaded locking collar that allows the blade to be secured in an upright position or at a 90-degree angle. The blade and wooden handle are finished in olive drab paint. The blade is stamped with U S and other partially legible characters. It is accompanied by an olive drab canvas cover featuring a metal wire belt hanger for attachment to a web belt and a single snap closure. The second item is a US military pick-mattock. This two-piece tool includes a detachable cast steel head with a pointed pick end and a flat mattock blade, along with a separate wooden handle, both finished in olive drab paint. It is paired with its original olive drab canvas carrier, which is stamped U S on the front flap and includes a metal wire belt hanger. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
