A Collection of Vintage Machinist Precision Measuring Tools by Starrett, Brown and Sharpe, and Others - This collection features an assortment of professional-grade precision measuring instruments from prominent 20th-century manufacturers. Included are several outside micrometers, notably a large NSK 7 to 8 inch model with a grey hammertone frame marked as made in Japan. American-made micrometers include Brown and Sharpe 3 to 4 inch and 4 to 5 inch models, a J.T. Slocomb Co. 1 to 2 inch model from Providence, Rhode Island, and an L.S. Starrett Co. micrometer from Athol, Massachusetts. A vintage Brown and Sharpe 7-inch vernier caliper is contained within its original velvet-lined flip-top case. Additional instruments include a Brown and Sharpe Bestest dial test indicator with .001 inch graduations and a five-piece set of telescoping hole gages housed in a blue vinyl pouch, featuring pieces by Brown and Sharpe and Fowler. A 7.000-inch measuring standard rod is included for calibration purposes. The tools are constructed from cast iron with black crinkle finishes and precision-ground steel components.
