L.S. Starrett No. 199 Master Precision Level in Original Fitted Wood Case - This is a vintage precision machinist tool manufactured by The L.S. Starrett Co. of Athol, Massachusetts. The instrument is a Model No. 199 Master Precision Level featuring a cast iron body with a black crackle finish and a precision-ground base. It is equipped with a high-sensitivity glass vial. The top plate is inscribed THE L.S. STARRETT CO. ATHOL, MASS. U.S.A. and specifies the graduation as 1 DIVISION = .0005 IN. / 1 FOOT. The level is housed in its original fitted wood storage box. The interior of the box lid retains two paper labels: a product identification label marked No. 199 STARRETT 1 ONLY MASTER PRECISION LEVEL and an instructional CAUTION label detailing proper handling procedures. The name LIEB-JACKSON, INC. is handwritten in ink on the inside of the box lid. The exterior of the box lid shows remnants of gold-toned lettering.
