* Smith & Wesson Double Action Frontier Double Action Revolver .44 Winchester with 6.5 Inch Barrel - The Smith & Wesson Double Action Frontier is a top-break revolver chambered in .44 Winchester, also known as .44-40 WCF. This model features a 6.5-inch barrel fitted with a pinned blade front sight and a lanyard ring attached to the butt of the frame. The metal finish exhibits a heavy, darkened patina with significant surface pitting and oxidation visible across the frame, cylinder, and barrel. Prominent markings include the two-line barrel rib address and patent list which reads SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A. PAT'D JAN. 17 & 24. 66 / JULY 11. 65 AUG. 24. 69 JULY 25. 71 DEC. 2. 79 MAY 11 & 25. 1880. The left side of the barrel is stamped .44 WINCHESTER CTG. and the left side of the frame features the circular logo inscribed with TRADE MARK and the S&W monogram. The revolver is currently fitted with mismatched grips consisting of a checkered black hard rubber panel with the S&W logo on the left and a worn, smooth dark wooden panel on the right. The butt of the frame is stamped with the serial number 14796. In house shipping is available. This firearm is at least 50 years old.
