* Arisaka Type 99 Bolt Action Rifle .257 Roberts with 26.5 Inch Barrel - This bolt-action rifle is a custom sporterized conversion of a Japanese Arisaka Type 99 chambered in .257 Roberts. The rifle is equipped with a 26.5-inch custom Berger barrel featuring a blued finish. Key markings on the barrel include the name B E R G E R stamped above the caliber designation 2 5 7 R O B T S A C K, indicating a chambering for the Ackley Improved version of the cartridge. The receiver retains its original military markings, including a circled series mark followed by the serial number 6 2 7 4 2, a stacked cannonball logo representing the Kokura Arsenal, and a small plus-shaped mark. The firearm is fitted into a custom Monte Carlo-style walnut stock with a raised cheekpiece and is finished with a black textured buttplate marked B I S H O P within a scroll. A long, multi-slot black metal scope rail is mounted to the top of the receiver for optics attachment, as the rifle is missing its original iron sights. The bolt action appears to cycle correctly, although we have not function-tested this firearm. In house shipping is available. This firearm is at least 50 years old.
