A Collection of Gurkha Khukuri Knives and a Caucasian Kindjal Dagger - A collection of edged weapons including several variations of the Gurkha khukuri and a Caucasian kindjal dagger. The kindjal features a straight double-edged steel blade with a prominent central fuller and a black horn or composite waisted grip secured by two large metallic rivets. It includes a black leather-covered wooden scabbard with a metallic throat and chape. One khukuri is an Indian military-issue pattern featuring a forward-curving blade stamped near the bolster with INDIA and a British Broad Arrow acceptance mark. This example has a polished hardwood grip with a brass bolster and a relief-cast brass lion head pommel. Another khukuri is of Nepalese manufacture, marked NEPAL on the ricasso with decorative scrollwork etching along the spine and a black leather scabbard containing two small accessory knives (karda and chakmak). Also included is a military-pattern M43 style khukuri with full tang construction and wooden grip scales secured by three large rivets, typical of World War II-era service patterns. The collection further includes a tan leather scabbard with a Broad Arrow over I stamp, indicating Indian service or manufacture.
