Doulton Lambeth Stoneware 4 Gallon Boddingtons Strangeways Manchester Advertising Flagon - This large salt-glazed stoneware flagon was manufactured by Doulton and Co. in Lambeth, London. The vessel features a cylindrical body with a rounded shoulder and a narrow, flanged neck. It is finished in a traditional two-tone glaze, with a honey-brown salt glaze over the shoulder and neck, and a cream-colored Bristol glaze on the lower body. The shoulder features prominent impressed block lettering for the historic Boddingtons Strangeways Brewery in Manchester, noting a 4 gallon capacity. An impressed circular maker mark for Doulton and Co. Lambeth London is located on the shoulder, and an impressed number 2.141 is present on the opposite side. Four circular brown felt protective pads are applied to the underside of the base. Height: 20 inches Capacity: 4 gallons. In-house shipping is available.
