French Brass Corniche Case Striking Carriage Clock - A French brass corniche case striking carriage clock dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. This timepiece features a classic polished brass case with five beveled glass panels that provide a clear view of the internal mechanical movement. The white enamel dial is designed with black Roman numeral hour markers and an outer track with Arabic numerals at five-minute intervals, paired with two blued steel hands. The eight-day movement is equipped with a top-mounted platform lever escapement and a striking mechanism that sounds on a coiled wire gong located at the rear. The clock is fitted with a hinged swing handle. The underside of the base is incised with the numerical sequence 8398. The platform escapement includes marks for time regulation. This clock is in running and chiming condition. Height: 4.75 inches (excluding handle) Width: 3.125 inches. In-house shipping is available.
