A Pair of Antique Chinese Lacquered Wood Eyeglass Cases - A pair of antique Chinese cylindrical eyeglass cases from the late Qing Dynasty. Each case is crafted from carved wood with a dark amber-toned lacquer finish applied to the exterior. The objects feature a two-part construction with a friction-fit lid. Both items bear a small red-brown wax Jian Ding (鉴定) seal, which is the official mark used by the Chinese government to indicate that a cultural relic has been inspected and approved for export. One case retains an original length of twisted natural fiber cord attached to one end. The interior of one case contains remnants of an aged paper or fabric lining. Length: 5.5 inches and 6 inches. In-house shipping is available. Pickup is Friday, Aug. 28, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
