American Classical Carved Mahogany Sofa with Lion Paw Feet - We will have this lot moved to the ground level garage for you, but you must move and load it into your vehicle. An American Classical period sofa, often referred to as Empire style, dating from approximately 1830 to 1845. The frame is constructed from mahogany with figured flame mahogany veneers visible on the crest rail, front rail, and side panels. The design features a rectangular back and large scrolled arms adorned with deep, high-relief acanthus leaf and scroll carvings. The structure is supported by four substantial carved lion-paw feet with acanthus-carved knees. The piece is upholstered in dark charcoal velvet and includes a loose long seat cushion and integrated scrolled bolsters. Four brass casters are attached to the feet. 78 inches W x 24 inches D x 34 inches H.
