A Pair of Framed Large Format Chromolithograph Prints after Ulpiano Checa and Rosa Bonheur - This lot features two large format framed color prints, identified as chromolithographs based on the color application and tonal qualities. The first print is a reproduction of Ulpiano Checa’s dramatic composition, Chariot Race. The scene depicts a Roman arena with a team of four black horses in the foreground and a crashing chariot drawn by white horses to the right, set against a backdrop of classical Roman architecture. The second print is a reproduction of Rosa Bonheur’s 1853-55 masterpiece, The Horse Fair, showing a dynamic gathering of Percheron horses and their handlers in a wooded outdoor setting. Both works are housed in matching ornate carved wooden frames featuring dark green double matting with a thin white inner border. The prints are protected behind glass. Pickup is Tuesday, August 25, from Noon to 7 pm at the home in Marion, OH or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
