Seth Thomas Mid-19th Century Triple-Decker Shelf Clock - This mid-19th century American triple-decker shelf clock was manufactured by Seth Thomas of Plymouth Hollow, Connecticut. The clock features a mahogany-veneered wooden case with two large side columns and a tiered, triple-panel front. The painted dial is marked G. H. LOUKINS at the center and features Roman numeral hour markers, an inner minute track, and floral spandrels in the corners. A central circular aperture provides a view of the eight-day brass weight-driven mechanical movement. The clock is decorated with two eglomise panels; the middle panel depicts a floral bouquet in a vase framed by drapery and columns, while the lower door panel features a compass rose motif within a circular frame and gilt borders. The interior contains a fragmented paper label printed with EIGHT DAY BRASS CLOCKS and SETH THOMAS. The clock includes two cast iron weights and a detached pendulum bob. The mechanical strike sounds on an internal wire gong. Width: 19 inches Height: 33 inches.
