American Late Classical Flame Mahogany Full Size Bed with Carved Crest - We will have this lot moved to the ground level garage for you, but you must move and load it into your vehicle. This mid-19th-century American Late Classical or Empire style bed is constructed of mahogany with flame mahogany veneers. The bed features massive square posts topped by turned bulbous finials and accented with beaded collar moldings. The high headboard is composed of large panels showcasing book-matched flame mahogany grain patterns. The arched top rail of the headboard is surmounted by a deep-relief carved cresting depicting a central scallop shell flanked by blooming roses, acanthus leaves, and scrolling foliate motifs. A fine beaded molding outlines the central portion of the headboard. The footboard is lower in height with a shaped top rail and matching massive posts and finials.
