American Empire Carved Flame Mahogany Chest of Drawers with Mirror - We will have this lot moved to the ground level garage for you, but you must move and load it into your vehicle. This mid-19th century American Empire chest of drawers is constructed from mahogany featuring book-matched flame mahogany veneers on the drawer fronts. The case contains four full-width drawers constructed with hand-cut dovetail joinery and secondary woods, likely pine or poplar. The chest is flanked by prominent pilasters with acanthus leaf carvings that terminate in carved hairy paw feet. The drawers are fitted with pressed clear glass knobs in the Sandwich style and brass-lined escutcheons. A matching swivel mirror with rounded corners and foliate-carved corner accents is mounted above the chest, supported by two turned and carved vertical stiles. 60” w x 74” to top of mirror x 25.75” deep.
