A Pair of Antique Gilt Brass and Mercury Glass Wall Sconces with Crystal Prisms - This pair of decorative wall-mounted sconces features ornate cast gilt metal arms decorated with deeply cast acanthus leaf and scrolling foliage motifs. Each sconce supports a large, silvered mercury glass sphere held within a decorative gallery. Suspended from the gallery are numerous faceted crystal prisms, including long rectangular baguettes and smaller octagonal buttons, with a central faceted almond-shaped crystal drop. Attached to the central stem by a metal loop is a suspended, ribbed amber glass orb. The fixtures are non-electrified, serving as decorative architectural elements rather than functional lamps.
