Western Electric Model 327 AB Inter-phone Wall Telephone - This is an antique wall-mounted inter-phone telephone manufactured by Western Electric, model 327 AB. The unit features a wooden cabinet with a dark-stained finish and finger-jointed corners. The front panel includes a fixed black transmitter mouthpiece and a small gold-toned rectangular label that reads Western Electric Inter-phone PATD IN USA SEE DATES INSIDE. A metal hook switch is mounted to the side of the cabinet. The top of the unit is fitted with two external metal ringer bells. The separate circular handheld receiver is connected via a cloth-covered cord and features incised text on the back reading WESTERN ELECTRIC MADE IN USA 528 PATENT 1273351. The interior contains the induction coils, wiring, and bell mechanism. The base of the wooden case is stamped 327 AB.
