A Collection of Vintage Ohio Local History Photography and Civil War Era Portraits Including Ulysses S. Grant and Philip Sheridan - This collection of approximately 50 to 60 pieces of vintage photography comprises albumen prints in carte-de-visite and cabinet card formats, silver gelatin prints, and a cyanotype. The lot features a strong concentration of Ohio local history, with architectural, landscape, and domestic views from Marion, Circleville, Lancaster, and Granville. Notable portrait subjects include Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant and General Philip Sheridan, as well as a photographic reproduction of the Death-bed of Abraham Lincoln. Maker marks include W.H. Moore, Prentice & Vail, M.K. Marshall, Spencer, Fulton & Beach, and D.M. Fulton. The lot includes a series of mounted silver gelatin prints documenting the construction of a large masonry building or institution. Mid-20th-century interest is represented by a 1952 silver gelatin print of the Harding High School Class of 1927 reunion. Multiple pieces contain contemporary inscriptions identifying members of the Peters, Brimfield, and Cahill families. Pickup is Tuesday, August 25, from Noon to 7 pm at the home in Marion, OH or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. We will charge a $10 fee to bring this lot back to our warehouse in Lancaster, OH for shipping or alternative pickup. Once packed up we will send you an invoice for shipping & handling.
