An Exquisite Gift from Legendary Hollywood Film Director Fred Zinneman, 1907-1997. Director of High Noon, From Here to Eternity and The Day of the Jackal, to name a few. After completion of 1961s 'The Nun's Story' starring Audrey Hepburn and Peter Finch, Fred gave his script supervisor, Elaine Schreyeck (who he had worked closely with) a brown leather, initialled, hand-crafted Gucci bag with a Personal note of gratitude - Delivered to her hotel in Rome! The movie went on to become a classic and was nominated for Eight academy awards. This incredible vintage Gucci bag has the made in Italy by Gucci stamp with the MOD.BREV.N. 65.669 marking. It measures 41cm width x 34cm height. The bag has never been used and has minor age related (65 years +) wear. Comes with original lock. BONUS! Also comes with an original Tribute card which was handed to Elaine when she attended a celebration of Fred Zinneman's life and work in 1997 at the Theatre Royal, London.
