”Riverside Landscape” by Pham Hau, 32,5 x 43,5 cm, watercolor on paper. Pham Hau (1903-1995), graduate of Ecole des Beaux-Arts de l'Indochine, renowned master of Vietnamese lacquer painting. Perfect condition. Pham Quang Hau, 1903–1994 was a Hanoi-born Vietnamese painter who trained at the Haiphong Trade School (1920) before graduating from the École des Beaux-Arts de l'Indochine in 1929. Celebrated as one of the great masters of Vietnamese lacquer painting, he worked fluently across many media - including silk, watercolor, and ink and often depicted landscapes and the simple life of the Vietnamese people. He also explored the rare technique of pyrography (heat-pen drawing on wood), adding another distinctive dimension to his artistic legacy.
