A Pair of Large Panther Candelabra in Silvered Bronze by José-Maria David (1944 - 2015). Both signed “DAVID, E.A.” 4/4. 57cm tall. José Maria David born on August 21 1944 in Loire. His taste for art initially led him to practice the trade of antique dealing, and it is only from 1986 that he devoted himself entirely to animal sculpture. The artist applied himself to give movement to his sculptures capturing the expressions of wild or domestic animals. Thanks to the importance he attached to the dynamism of his sculptures, José Maria David succeeded in giving life to his bronze animals. He died on October 12 2015.
