Rare 1830s John Barnes Alabama Quart Jug - Scarce John Barnes Alabama Quart Jug (close to Gus Creek). Classic tooling under the lip and tooling under the handle which were traits of John Barnes. This example would be circa 1835 to 1840. Highly significantexample in Alabama stoneware. This is the first example Cagle Auction has offered before. Condition is near mint with a few glaze flakes on the lip, typical of wear and age. No cracks or No repairs. Sought afterexample, fresh from an Atlanta area estate. Standing: 7 1/2” Tall
