Daniel Roth Ingenious and important neo-vintage platinum monopusher chronograph, limited edition of 16 pieces, dial with Clous de Paris and satin-brushed finish, Roman numerals, and open case back. - Brand: Daniel Roth Brand: Chrono Monopusher Year: circa 1991 Dial: Grigio Clous de Paris and satin Case N°: 0 Movement: Manual wind Cal: Lemania 2220 Material: Platinum Bracelet: Leather Size: 42 x 40 mm Accessories: Box The independent brand led by master watchmaker Daniel Roth was founded in 1987, when, after years of experience first at Audemars Piguet and later distinguishing himself through the revival of Breguet, he decided to focus his energy on a personal project. In 1991, Daniel Roth created a limited series of Monopusher Chronographs, with only 36 pieces in yellow gold and an even rarer 16 in platinum, like the watch presented here. The dial combines refined guilloché work with satin-finished surfaces, such as the chapter ring with Roman numerals, creating a sense of depth and sophistication. This effect is further enhanced by the double-ellipse case, a signature design element of the brand. In this instance, the movement is a Lemania 2220, a vintage caliber from the 1930s that Roth masterfully adapted for his creation, finishing it to the highest standards of haute horlogerie, with beveled edges and numerous polished components. This particular piece perfectly embodies Daniel Roth’s philosophy and creative genius, which was allowed to fully flourish during those early years, before shares of the brand were sold.
