Each print features a detailed plant study with accompanying anatomical sketches. The prints depict ”Panax quinquefolium L.” (American Ginseng, Tab. 188), ”Crataegus aria L.” (Whitebeam, Tab. 308), and ”Piper nigrum L.” (Black Pepper, Tab. 338). One print bears the attribution ”J. F. Hennel Del.” (drew it) and ”I. G. Bachofen fec.” (engraved it). Each print is matted in off-white and protected by glass within matching dark-finished, possibly distressed, wooden frames featuring a decorative gold-toned inner trim.
