A Pair of Nippon Kogei Bisque Porcelain Allegorical Figures, Made in Japan - A pair of Nippon Kogei bisque porcelain allegorical figures, made in Japan. These white, unglazed ceramic statuettes depict female figures in a classical or neoclassical style. One figure is shown playing a lyre, resting on a small pedestal, while the other plays a transverse flute. Both figures are elegantly draped in garments with elaborate folds and stand on circular, naturalistic bases. The underside of the lyre player's base features a gold foil sticker reading ”Hand Painted, ” ”NIPPON KOGEI, ” and ”MADE IN JAPAN, ” alongside a handwritten red number ”8019.” Height of flute player: 7.5 inches
