A Vintage Brass or Bronze Judaica Hanukkah Menorah (Hanukkiah) and Pair of Shabbat Candlesticks with Lions of Judah and Tablets of the Law - This lot comprises a vintage patinated brass or bronze Hanukkah menorah (hanukkiah) and a pair of coordinating individual candlesticks. The central hanukkiah features a rectangular base supporting eight candle cups, with a ninth (shamash) integrated into a prominent Star of David surmounting the design. Its ornate backplate depicts the Tablets of the Law, crowned and flanked by rampant lions, inscribed with the Ten Commandments in Hebrew: ”I am the Lord your God, ” ”You shall have no other gods, ” ”You shall not take the name, ” ”Remember the Sabbath day, ” ”Honor your father, ” ”You shall not murder, ” ”You shall not commit adultery, ” ”You shall not steal, ” ”You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor, ” ”You shall not covet your neighbor's house.” The two accompanying candlesticks, of a similar material and aesthetic, each have a tapered stem, a single candle cup, a distinctive curved handle, and their circular bases are inscribed with Hebrew text translating to ”Shabbat Kodesh” (Holy Sabbath).
