A Japanese Satsuma Table Lamp - 19 x 33 A Japanese Satsuma table lamp, converted from a baluster-form ceramic vase, mounted on a dark-stained wood base and fitted with brass-toned electrical components. The ceramic body features a crackle glaze and is richly decorated in a polychrome enamel palette, predominantly red, blue, gold, and cream, depicting detailed scenes of figures in traditional attire, likely samurai warriors. Applied scroll-like decorative elements adorn its sides. A rectangular mark on the lower ceramic body reads ”薩摩” (Satsuma). The lamp is topped with an off-white pleated fabric shade with braided trim and an openwork brass finial.
