19th Century Chinese Bronze Phoenix and Dragon Tripod Censer - 15 x 8 x 15 A large, patinated bronze tripod vessel, identified as a censer, dating to the 19th century and of Chinese origin. The globular body is adorned in relief with a continuous band of stylized East Asian motifs, featuring two confronting five-clawed dragons pursuing a flaming pearl amidst swirling clouds. On the opposite side, a phoenix is depicted in flight, also surrounded by clouds. The vessel features two robust looped handles attached to its broad rim and rests on three sturdy legs. No discernible text or maker's marks are apparent on the exterior surfaces. The interior is currently filled with a quantity of dried, light brown organic material, resembling moss or lichen.
