A Pair of 1976 Grenadier Ceramic Decanters, Theodore ”Teddy” Roosevelt and Pony Express Rider - 6 x 5 and 5 x 6 A pair of 1976 Grenadier ceramic figural decanters, each depicting a historical American figure on horseback. The first decanter portrays Theodore ”Teddy” Roosevelt wearing a hat and uniform, with its base clearly marked ”THEODORE ”TEDDY” ROOSEVELT”. The second decanter depicts a Pony Express rider on a galloping horse, with its base inscribed ”APRIL 3 PONY EXPRESS OCT 24 1860 1861”. Both pieces are rendered in a similar palette of brown, red, cream, and green tones, consistent with the Grenadier series of historical decanters. The upper body of the Roosevelt figure is designed as a removable stopper, and it is presumed the Pony Express figure also functions as a decanter.
