Both pieces are crafted from off-white/cream-colored Fine China. The square plate's underside bears the maker's mark ”Villeroy & Boch, ” established ”1748,” with ”Made in Germany” also visible, along with a partial retail sticker. The metal handles on the oval dish appear to be pewter or a similar alloy.
