A Pair of Lenox 'Woodland Wildlife' Collector Plates by Boehm, 1974 and 1975 - A pair of Lenox 'Woodland Wildlife' annual limited issue collector plates, adapted from original works of art designed by Boehm. Crafted from porcelain or fine china, each plate features a central polychrome transfer-printed depiction of woodland animals in a naturalistic landscape. Both plates are adorned with an ornate dark blue border featuring intricate gold scrollwork and a prominent gold rim. The first plate, dated 1974, portrays ”Red Foxes” with an adult and several kits. The second plate, dated 1975, depicts ”Cottontail Rabbits” including an adult and young. Both artworks are signed ”Boehm.” The reverses are clearly marked ”LENOX PRESENTS AN ANNUAL LIMITED ISSUE WOODLAND WILDLIFE ADAPTED FROM ORIGINAL WORKS OF ART DESIGNED BY Boehm, ” along with the specific animal title (”RED FOXES” or ”COTTONTAIL RABBITS”), ”LENOX” followed by the respective year (1974 or 1975), and ”©LENOX MADE IN U.S.A.” The style is consistent with mid-20th century limited edition collector plates.
