David Holleman Mid-Century Modern Ceramic Mosaic and Sgraffito Wall Panel - This mid-century modern mixed media artwork is by David Holleman and consists of hand-formed ceramic mosaic tiles and incised sgraffito ceramic panels mounted on a plywood support. The central composition features a blue-glazed rectangular panel depicting an incised stylized figure standing between two graphic trees beneath a crescent moon and a mountain peak. This central panel is surmounted by a triangular pediment section displaying geometric and botanical patterns in sgraffito. These focal elements are framed by rectangular fields of multi-colored ceramic tesserae in various glazes, including turquoise, terracotta, ochre, deep red, and cream. The work is signed Holleman on a light-colored tile in the lower-left quadrant. The piece is presented in a simple mitered dark wood frame.
