Replogle World Ocean Series Terrestrial Globe - A vintage terrestrial world globe from the World Ocean series by Replogle Globes. The globe features a paper-covered surface with textured raised relief to represent mountain ranges and land elevations. The cartography provides detailed political and geographical information, including city populations, steamship routes with distances, and bathymetric data of the ocean floor such as ridges, basins, and trenches. The globe is mounted within a brass-finished metal meridian ring graduated in degrees and sits on a circular dark brown painted metal base. The mapping was designed by cartographer Leroy M. Tolman.
