Baum, L. Frank, et al. A Collection of Oz Series Books. Reilly & Lee, c. 1920-1941. - A collection of vintage hardcover volumes from the Oz series, featuring works by L. Frank Baum, Ruth Plumly Thompson, and John R. Neill. The titles included are Glinda of Oz, The Scalawagons of Oz, The Purple Prince of Oz, The Royal Book of Oz, Handy Mandy in Oz, Ojo in Oz, The Wishing Horse of Oz, and Speedy in Oz. All volumes are published by Reilly & Lee, as indicated on the spines. The books are bound in publisher's cloth of various colors (red, tan, grey, and green) with large pictorial paper labels on the front covers, illustrated by John R. Neill. The spines feature black stamped titles, character vignettes, and the publisher's imprint. The interior of at least one volume features a ”This Book belongs to” page with a hand-colored bull illustration and an ink/crayon inscription reading THE NASH FAMILY and NASH. Several volumes contain illustrated endpapers and numerous black and white interior illustrations, some of which show evidence of amateur hand-coloring in crayon or ink. Height: 9.25 inches.
