Large Chinese Cloisonne and Champleve Enamel Gilt Metal Double-Handled Vase - A large baluster-form vase featuring a bulbous body and a flared neck, constructed of gilt metal with polychrome cloisonne and champleve enamel ornamentation. The neck is decorated with stylized floral and scrolling foliage motifs situated above a band of geometric leiwen fretwork and a band of pointed lotus petals. The rim features a Greek key border. The main body is characterized by large central circular medallions on either side, each containing complex geometric interlace knotwork in red, blue, and gold tones. These medallions are set against a turquoise blue ground filled with scrolling flowers and diamond-shaped motifs. The vase is flanked by two cast gilt-metal handles in the form of stylized animal heads. The flared foot is decorated with matching geometric fretwork, and the underside of the base consists of a recessed dark-patinated metal plate. No maker marks or reign marks are visible.
