Antique The E. Ingraham Co. Wizard Black Wood Mantel Clock - This antique mantel clock is the Wizard model produced by The E. Ingraham Co. of Bristol, Connecticut. The timepiece features a wooden case finished in a black textured coating intended to simulate stone or leather, a style often referred to as a black mantel clock. The circular dial consists of a paper chapter ring with Roman numerals, including the IIII for four, surrounding an ornate embossed gilt metal center. The dial is protected by a cast gilt metal bezel with a hinged glass cover. The internal mechanical movement is a spring-driven time and strike mechanism that utilizes a bell chime. The back of the wooden case features a circular access door and retains the original red paper manufacturer label identifying the model as Wizard.
