The plates are primarily dated 1953 and 1954, representing over 25 United States and one Canadian province. Visible plates include Wisconsin (America's Dairyland), South Carolina, Wyoming, Louisiana (with pelican logo), Colorado, Virginia, Rhode Island, Maine (Vacationland), Indiana, Nebraska, West Virginia, New Hampshire, Prince Edward Island (with coat of arms), Minnesota, Michigan, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Florida, California, New Mexico, Ohio, Idaho, Alabama, Illinois, Oklahoma, and Vermont. The plates are hand-cut and bent to fit the wooden core, secured with various nails and screws.
